Treatments offered include but are not limited to those listed below:

Knee Arthroscopy

Or 'keyhole' surgery is commonly performed as a daycase procedure through small incisions in the front of the knee. This is frequently performed to treat painful meniscal or cartilage tears in the knee, which are often caused through sporting injuries.

Ligament reconstruction

Aims to restore stability and confidence to the knee which has been previously injured, and has failed to improved with physiotherapy and rehabilitation. The hamstring tendons are often taken to reconstruct the injured ligament but other options are available and can be discussed further at the time of consultation.

Osteotomy

Or realignment surgery may be a good option for patients who have isolated early arthritis and are not yet at the stage of considering a joint replacement. By changing the shape of the leg this surgery aims to redistribute the forces around the knee away from the painful area.

Partial Knee Replacement

A partial knee replacement involves replacing just the affected or worn area of the knee which is causing pain. This is commonly isolated to the inside, outside or kneecap region of the knee.

Total Knee Replacement

A full knee replacement is a good surgical option for patients with widespread advanced arthritis, providing significant pain relief and restoration of function.
